All About Karen Ross
Karen Ross has been interviewing people most of her adult life. As a radio talk show host, she has interviewed hundreds of authors and experts in addition to representatives of events, causes, and businesses.
Karen and her husband were principals of a senior-level executive search firm in Chicago. In this profession, Karen conducted in-depth interviews with executive candidates from a variety of industries. This often required quick boning-up on unfamiliar and obscure industries to be able to ask the right questions. More importantly, to garner the right answers…the ones her clients needed to effectively judge potential candidates.
As a Guardian ad Litem and trained mediator, Karen has had to interview people from all walks of life to fully grasp all sides of each case. To complete freelance writing assignments for businesses, she had to ask the right questions to ensure the accuracy of her final product. As a columnist for newspapers and magazines…..again, she asked the right questions to compose informative and entertaining articles.
Most recently, Karen was the host and producer of Connect With Karen radio show in Greenville, SC. She was the local “face” for a station which broadcasted nationally syndicated programming. Karen produced and hosted THE KAREN ROSS SHOW – Where You Meet The Most Interesting People, a top-rated radio interview/talk show in Chicago for several years. Her award-winning show featured interviews with well-known experts and best-selling authors on a variety of topics. She also produced and hosted WHAT’S COOKIN’ WITH KAREN in Chicago. Ross was a member of AWRT (American Women in Radio and Television) and Chicago’s Women on Radio.
As a freelance writer her work has been featured in magazines and news publications. She is also a businesswoman with a diverse professional background. She is a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA) and founder of the Senior Resource Alliance (SRA) of Greater Greenville. She served as the Regional Marketing Representative for the international Society of Certified Senior Advisors in Florida. Karen founded Priority Projects, Inc., a Chicago-based executive search, research, and management consulting organization. As president of this firm, her activities included senior level executive search, market research, training & development seminars, general business management and a variety of special projects. Previously, Karen owned a company that produced and promoted trade shows. Earlier, she was vice president of a property management firm.
Karen is a Guardian ad Litem representing abused and neglected children in the court system. She is also a trained mediator. Karen was active for many years with Children’s Home & Aid of Illinois, the Midwest’s oldest and largest private child and family welfare agency. She is committed to support and promote efforts that benefit children and families.
Karen was a co-founder and officer of the National Assn. for Women in Careers. She was a member of the Illinois Prairie Girl Scout Council Careers Task Force. She has been a member of the Chicago Northwest Suburban Assn. of Commerce and Industry and was an executive committee member of the Crown Point, IN Chamber of Commerce. Also, Karen has served the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago Marketing Committee as a consultant. Her accomplishments have been listed in Who’s Who of American Women and Who’s Who in the Midwest.
